Defined in the tones of white, grey and silver. This retail space is a blend of modern elements and traditional elements. Presenting the Ajanta Jewellers located at Delhi's most hustling shopping street Karol Bagh. This store spreads over an area of 1500 square feet divided upon two floors.
The jewellery represents luxury, intricacy and royalty. These were Woodcraft International's three main considerations while designing the store as well. We had a budget and time constraint as well since the store was already active. The execution also took place in two phases so that the client doesn’t have to shut completely. Our design ideology was to keep the first glance surfaces as white and grey surfaces as the background to the beautiful jewellery. To add a bit of glamour and shine to the interiors we custom made the see-through Steel bar partition at the ground floor in front of the staircase to create a visual barrier. On the top of it we added a gold finished company’s logo to grab the customer’s attention. Similarly, for the exterior we went for the same steel bars concept with grey colored background having a detailed jali. The first floor was segregated in three different sections -gold, diamond and imitation bridal jewellery. Lighting plays an important role in such retail spaces, therefore we made sure that each jewellery piece has a focus light upon it. Along with, the profile and surface lights were used in the entire store to keep the store lit at all times. Chandeliers and hanging lights were also added to act as the accents in the false ceiling. Mirrors were added in the entire staircase to create a larger visual impact of the store. Due to the budget constraint we re-polished the existing stairs, refurbished the existing sofas and stools. The client require a lot of storage so we managed to include it.
